A lively restaurant, with lots of locals dining too. The staff were very friendly and service was excellent, pasta with the burrata and tomato pasta was really tasty and a good local wine list not too expensive. A fabulous find in a busy square, enjoyed it so much we had dinner on 2 evenings. The square was really busy as there was a wine festival as well.

We had a truly wonderful experience at Il Poeta Contadino. We were a group of 15 people, and the staff kindly rearranged the tables so we could all sit together comfortably. The service was warm, attentive, and incredibly well-organized from start to finish.
They brought out a delicious selection of appetizers, thoughtfully portioned so that everyone had more than enough to taste and enjoy. This attention to detail really made a difference, especially for a large group like ours. The food was excellent across the board: full of flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly prepared with care.

We have pre booked the table before they opened luckily 🤗 If I felt it well, it’s a family business and all of them were super nice! 😊 Our waiter, the sporty young man has been super polite and he even manage to swap all around the dish we asked for! Absolutely amazed! Definitely worth to taste! 🤤🤤🤤 PS very much like not throwing away the damaged ceramic, still in used 🥰

Stop for simple lunch, nice zucchini flower cheese fritter (Fiori di zucca) and simple boar ragu and orchietti rape pasta. Homemade picante oil makes everything more tasty Owner called the restaurant “ the Peasant Poet” 😉

A lovely Osteria that we go to whenever in Lecce. The food is wonderful and the service is rapid and friendly. The basilica di Santa Croce is just around the corner- absolutely beautiful !

Amazing restaurant!! The waiters were very kind and helpfull. The gave us tips what to choose. It is a very local restaurant, all the products are fresh and homemade (the pasta aswell)

Absolutely THE BEST food, wine & service!! The pasta with mussels was phenomenal & their chicken dish was deeeelish! The small pitcher of red wine from the region was wonderful too! The Servers were awesome & diligent. Everything was so perfect we went back the next night for dinner too!! My favorite restaurant in Lecce!!!

Our favourite restaurant in Puglia so far! The food was quick, rustic and homely and delicious I'm a beautiful setting. The service was even better with our lovely host Romina who looked after us all night. So good we went twice !
